My name is Robert Fiedor. Here you can explore my persona and the work that it creates.
The books on the top of this page represent my journey as a Multimedia Developer. The first software that I learned was Photoshop, followed by Ilustrator and a series of other design programs. With time I became interested in motion graphics and video editing and to this day I enjoy working in After Effects and Premiere.
During the past three years I have been dedicated to programming in Actionscript 3, polishing my skills with the goal of mastery.
Currently I live in NYC raising my 2 year old daughter Natalie. My free time is split between Prospect Park, programming, my friends, Kindle and Netflix. I hope you enjoy what you will be presented with here.

The game in which you are the Chef kidnapped by the Blob strictly to make him Pancakes. The Blob is very picky and will eat only well prepared pancakes. Do not accidentally feed him a raw or burnt pancake, or allow a pancake to fall on the floor. If you do, the Blob will quickly loose his temper and appetite...and you may never see another pancake mix again.
This game has been fully conceptualized and created by me. I have also written its code (except for game framework from this book and WCK Framework) The graphics are either of my own creation or taken from Istockphoto.com. I composed the music along with most of the sounds using Reason.
The game is not yet finished and is still a bit rough around the edges, but I believe that it is complete enough to showcase here. The game's programming code is available for you to see, showing the level of my programming skills. You can download it here. The game is based on the above mentioned frameworks, but also contains many optimization techniques such as movieclips turned into sprite sheets, large bitmaps being moved via scrollRect as often as possible, etc.
The To-Do list contains an object pooling feature which will allow the pancakes to be created before each level instead of during game play, a more animated Chef and the Instruction and Game Over Screens. These additions along with many other elements I have in mind will be implemented in the near future. In the mean time Enjoy, and don't mess up any pancakes!
This is my earlier portfolio. Upon its completion, I have become very well oriented in the making of sites based on XML: the loading of different types of assets, embedding of fonts, handling navigation and corresponding pages, as well as animating without the use of timeline.
This is the editor I plan on using when designing an Isometric game. The other goal of this project was to get familiar with as3IsoLib. Future plans include granting access to depth management and export of xml file containing the map of the game.
I absolutely love working on projects which allow me to mix and experiment with different third party libraries. This time I decided to see if I can use Flint Particles class inside of Papervision. Those blue half-circles are particles controlled by Flint but at the same time existing in 3D space provided by Papervision.
When I came across this papervision editor I was really stunned because it was exactly the thing that I was missing. With this tool its really easy to set up 3d Papervision scenes, although out of the box you just get an xml document. So I created an xml parser that extracts the data from that xml file and creates the scene just the way I designed it. Very handy.
My favorite frame-by-frame animation. A looped flash animation of a bee I filmed walking across my kitchen table. The movie was converted into vector animation and superimposed on top of a city created with 3ds Max.
I try to put forth best design practices when developing flash. I am familiar with all OOP principles. The projects I develop use MVC as well as other design patterns.
I am proficient in the use of After Effects, Premiere and Red Giant plugins. My work has been broadcasted on television in the US as well as UK. Recently one of my commercials was presented at the Prudential Center in Newark NJ.
I use Photoshop and Illustrator on a daily basis. I actively keep up with the latest design trends.
I am widening my knowledge about HTML, CSS and Javascript, with a special focus on the communication between these languages and Flash. I am also beginning to learn PHP as well as Facebook and Flash integration.
Whenever something sparks my interest, I always ask myself "How does it work? What is going on under the hood here?". Everything that I describe in this section I have learned through asking these queries.
Through the years, Robert became an integral part of the team and the go-to guy regarding everything Flash. Aside from Robert's skills as both a designer and a programmer, he's also very personable and developed an outstanding rapport with everyone in the company.
